It has been seen that customers are often unsure about the whether to go for an insurance agent or Insurance Broking Firm. Every time customers ask questions about why I should go for insurance broking firm in comparison with insurance agent.

1)      Insurance Agent is a person who represents insurance company. 1)      Insurance Broker who represents customers. 
2)      Insurance company grants license to the agent so he can sell their product. 2)      Insurance Broker is who holds the license of IRDA.                        
3)      Insurance agent can be 10th or 12th passed person. 3)      Insurance broker holds license form IRDA, so they have better knowledge about insurance industry.
4)      Insurance agent who can sell the products of only one particular company. 4)      Where as Insurance broker is departmental store where u can get different products of different company.
5)      Insurance Agent may not have the right policy or coverage’s for your specific needs as they are somewhat limited. Because of limited access to market. 5)       Insurance broker helps customers in buying right product from right company at right price. As a larger access to the market. 

6)      Insurance agent may or may not help you in settling of claim.

6)      Insurance broker helps customers in lodging and settling of the claim.
7)      Insurance agents in many cases try to seek their insurance company happy. So the interest of insurance company kept in mind before yours. 7)      Insurance broker as representative of customers gives preference to customers.
8)      Agent has an administrative duty to customers. He sees that customer provides all required material for the application to be underwritten. 8)      Insurance broker have legal duty to their clients and can be held liable for not fulfilling the request of clients.
